![]() I was able to import my own landscape of my backyard. That works but the alignment CTR元 does not. I understand when two telescopes are listed that you make them slew using CTRL and the telescope’s number. But it is frustrating that I have to align via hand controller as often as I do.Ĭurrently CTR元 does not work even when only one telescope is listed in Stellarium. I think I have it written down somewhere. I found the hand controller procedure on the web but I do not recall the procedure at the moment. When it does not align like it should I have to use the Hand Controller keys to make it align because CTR元 does not force alignment. Its bullseye does move smoothly through the sky to a selected object. ![]() However, there have been many times it does not quite align on a selected object either, but at least it is usually closer. I use the same computer for both scopes but do not run both scopes at the same time. Maybe that is why COM4 is already designated on my computer. It is not using the ST4 connection but the ASCOM connection. ![]() When I use my SkyWatcher EQ6 Pro (GEM), I do not have much of an issue. The icon seems to take long zig-zag moves and when it gets close to the object it moves back and forth sideways to the object as if it is trying to make up its mind whether or not to center and ends up too far away from the object. When slewing to an object the scope’s bullseye does not move smoothly through the sky background. I can get the telescope to slew to a selected target using Stellarium but the telescope bull-eyes’ icon is never on the object and CTR元 does not force alignment neither does holding down the Hand Controllers’ Enter button for SYNC cause the icon to align. ![]() The window under “Telescope controlled by” has the bullet in “Stellarium, directly through a serial port” checked. I think an ASCOM setup uses COM4 but I do not chose ASCOM for this telescope because I could not get ASCOM to work on this scope. I just cannot get the ASCOM selection to work at all on this telescope. The Meade LX200GPS has two ST4 cables and one is COM4 and the other is COM13. I have used the configuration for both “Meade AutoStar compatible” and “Meade LX200GPS (compatible)” and checked the “Serial port” for the correct “COM” number and neither selection gives satisfactory results. The Stellarium connection is not aligning as it should. Forked mounted Meade LX200GPS on an Equatorial Wedge.
